If we look at the background of student unions, in this picture below you can see the founder of Pakistan Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah discussing with these students, there is no doubt that students played an important role in Pakistan!

Let me share an powerful quote of Q.A jinnah:

Advising the youth, Quaid-i-Azam emphasized the importance of polishing leadership skills: 

"Pakistan is proud of its youth, especially the students, who are the builders of the nation of tomorrow. They should fully equip themselves with discipline, education and training for the tough task ahead of them.

SUs strengthened Pakistan's democratic culture; student unions served as a strong resistance force against authoritarianism no doubt; From 1947, SUs played major role leading political movements against dictatorships and we will never forget efforts of students bravery In 1968, the students first came together to protest against Ayub Khan, which resulted in the  "Awami movement"

Student unions are a legitimate demand of students as per Article 17 of Pakistan as stated :
17. Every citizen shall have the right to form associations or unions subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interests of the sovereignty or integrity, public order or morals of Pakistan.

Students played a major role not only  after Creation of Pakistan but also in its struggle and movement, Whenever "student union" reached its peak, the dictators imposed restrictions on Students; In 70s Islamic , Liberals  & ethnic  organizations appeared on colleges and university campuses including PSF BSO,  PKSF,  APMSO, ATI & others, PSF and NSF Students were tortured by Dictator General Zia, We will never forget the brilliant efforts of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who gave us precious gift to Pakistan in form of Democracy and gave every citizen "Right to Vote" But there are many frustrated elements in our society who believes in their negative idea that the youth should not get involved in mainstream politics but we Democrats believes Politics is the right of youth.

We all know Student unions were banned in 1984, Must remember that Supreme Court of Pakistan also banned (SUs) in 1993; First democratically Prime Minister of Pakitstan Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto during her 1st term had restored SU along with Labour Unions , but we all know under a conspiracy Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government was also toppled and regime followed ban on SUs.

In 2008, PPP Yusuf Raza Gillani in his 1st address to National Assembly, announced the lifting of the ban on SUs..but no results because of constant conspiracy.

The biggest injustice done to the youth of this country was the attempt to suppress their voice...

Currently few years ago in 2019 Students marched for Revival of SU across Pakistan... But its historical achievement that now Sindh become first province to end ban on SUs and Sindh Assembly enacted a law allowing SUs in whole Sindh and that all became possible under best leadership of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari studentsof sindh are thankful and truly they completed their long toughest journey...

Although the past of Pakistan regarding constant ban of SUs is totally miserable and all this happened due to the absence of Student Unions in educational institutions which paved the way for dictators to gain control over the political affairs of the state. For a better future, there should be student unions in Punjab, Balochistan and all over Pakistan like our beloved Sindh! Student Unions truly provide students to participate in political/social activities thus leading to an effective and positive way to develop future leadership and with restoration of SUs in Sindh; Students of Sindh have full right to speak and draw attention to issues like jobs and cases of harassment.
 

Role of SPSF:

SPSF (Sindh People's Students Federation) is or organization which aims to unite and empower all students in sindh and making them aware about their true leadership skills; i want to mention here General Secretary of SPSF LALA MURAD KHAN  who's really doing healthy debates and trying to influence the minds of the Youth  in a positive way and guiding them in matters concerning solution to their issues; The objective of SPSF Over Sindh is to inspire youth and train themselves as positive minds and SPSF strives to influence the minds of youth in the right direction in order to shine their leadership skills for the better future.  Nowadays SPSF organizes "SZAB talent hunt competition" to provide a better academic, sports and cultural environment for students to improve their political identity and which is very important for youth (Students) for many good reasons for better future.
